It probably wasn't...the best idea, getting into a pissing match with Satan.

( the only benefit to the multiverse, really, is that blue doesn't have to examine her own feelings about deities and celestial beings at all. it's fairly evident that blue and sam don't come from the same universe, and probably likely that this satan comes from somewhere else too. so if there's thoughts that she might have about the existence of angels — fallen or otherwise — blue doesn't have to actually examine them yet.

instead she just casts a sidelong glance at the couch, with the torn up cushions. it's probably not ideal having furniture torn up and damaged lamps, but they probably dodged a bullet. if a fallen angel came swanning into their apartment ready to goad a fight out of sam, a lot worse could have happened to the place— to him. blue could have come home. henry. )

I mean, I was already looking at a new place.

Sorry. ( that he broke her shit. that he started fights and caused problems. that he's like this, he can't fucking help it and it's a shit excuse and not one he'd ever actually. voice out loud. because what the hell kind of reason is that? sorry, i've got a crap temper, so you're just going to have to deal with me being a piece of shit every once in a while who starts crap. no. it's not on everyone else to just fucking work around him, it's on him to figure out how to work around himself.

sam at least--definitely looks remorseful. now that blue's here to assess the damage, he's a lot less pissed at himself and at satan and more upset that he was an idiot and wrecked shit. )

If he comes back, I'll try and keep it out of the house.

At the risk of sounding lame, I do care a little more about the wellbeing of people than I do the furniture that came free with the apartment.

( it's framed as a light nudge towards a joke, with a slightly amused lilt to her voice even if blue's expression is still wrapped up in a state of concerned and trying not to look it. she stretches out one of her legs, knocks the edge of her toe against the side of his legs — and she's even wearing her shoes still, it had been a pretty speedy entrance after all. )

That sounds obnoxiously lame, and if I ever hear you say something like that again, I might have to make a run for it.

( but he's--snorting, reaching in front of himself to grab hold of her ankle. gently, grip loose. just enough to drag her in a little closer and take off her goddamn shoe.

like he's used to doing crap like this. )

Nailgun will trip you on the way out, you'll never make it.

( blue flexes her foot a little in his grip, but she lets sam nudge the shoe off her foot without protest. when he's done she even lifts the other like an offering, she even cracks a smile, slouching back a little and resting back on her hands. )

Besides— ( she shrugs, nodding her head towards the torn up couch. ) you're not totally off the hook. Want to help me pay off the couch?

[rowd]

( one shoe down, sam tugs off the second when it's offered, also. leaves them both leaning up against the wall beside where he's sitting before he's tugging on blue's leg to pull her even closer, her thighs over his own. )

I'll pay for it. I broke it, so I'll replace it.

( she's happy to drape her legs over him, tucks herself up into his side too and leans into that closeness. blue hooks her arm through his too, careful with her touch as she runs her finger down his arm, finds his wrist and squeezes it lightly. she doesn't really know sam well enough to know if this helps, but there's not really a whole lot else that blue can do right now. )

I was thinking more like you could help me at the shop, I don't really want to interview strangers.

I trashed your apartment, and you wanna trust me around your shop?

( it does help, actually. there's no violence behind her touch; there's no intention of fucking him over, of digging those fingers deep into his skin until it breaks, of antagonizing him until he loses it. blue is gentle, easy, and it's--comforting. )

( blue likes this kind of comfort. she's not always great with conversations, finds the navigation of another person's feeling and her own righteous anger difficult at best, but contact is good. she shrugs, with a non-committal noise before she tilts her head, leaning in until her cheek rests light against his shoulder. )

If you trash the shop I'll make you clean it up. If your stupid uncle is involved, I'm pretty sure there's enough witches connected to that place that someone will hex him to the Down and back again.

( her head presses against his shoulder, and sam tips his head to lean his cheek against the top of her hair. takes another deep breath in, and closes his eyes. he's about as comfortable as he ever is--which. says a lot towards how comfortable he is with blue. )

Maybe someone 'round here has something that can put a dent in his stupid ego.

I mean, try not to go looking for a fight.

( she doesn't really think that she can tell sam what to do, but blue phrases it as if it's an instruction anyway, on the off chance that it sinks in anyway. )

I'll ask around though. See if something can't be done.

[rowd]

( sam wraps an arm around blue, keeps his hold loose, plenty of space for her to get out from his hold if she feels the need to. )

I'm real shit at not looking for a fight.

( at least he's honest. and satan, or whoever, pissed him off. sam doesn't like being underestimated, being treated like a bug who can't do crap. if satan's going to treat him like he's nothing, sam's going to make him regret it. )

( she figured as much, but blue still sighs a little all the same. she tries to clip it off, but it's still there, even if she softens the blow by turning her head and pressing a soft kiss to his shoulder. she's not trying to be judgemental, really, she's just...concerned, slightly. she doesn't make friends particularly often, and the one she does she's inclined to want to keep. )

I don't want it to be you getting torn up and thrown around next time.

Long as I don't die, I'll be fine.

( vague and probably unsettling, so sam--shifts a little. keeps an arm around blue, and moves the other one to grab onto the jack knife in his jeans' pocket. it takes a little bit of effort, moving so he doesn't disturb blue at all.

she's being soft, soothing, and he's going to just fucking ruin it by turning that knife around in his hand, flipping the blade open, and pressing it against the inside of his arm hard enough to break open skin.

it bleeds for a moment, just a bit of blood dragging down his arm before the wound seals up again. it leaves a mark, a little scar, but that'll be gone too before long. )

So you don't gotta worry about me coming back torn up and bruised or whatever.

( blue almost protests when she sees the knife, seemingly out of nowhere, because nothing good tends to come when people start pulling knives out. but she holds off, bites her tongue a moment and waits. she can't stop herself from cursing under her breath when he breaks the skin though, a huffed out sound as she reaches for his arm in time for the wound to heal up before her eyes.

she knows, theoretically, that it's possible, she just hasn't really...seen it happen in front of her like that before. she pulls down her sleeve, uses the edge of it under a thumb to wipe away the little bit of blood there, but she doesn't really look any less concerned. )

I get it, you're tough. I still don't really like the idea of you getting hurt.

( sam hates how stupid soft blue is with him. it isn't necessary, he doesn't need someone to gently wipe blood off of him, doesn't need someone to coddle him when he's upset. even if it feels nice, but it being nice is even fucking worse because it'll just fuck everything up later. he's--only let one person get this close to him, coddle him like this, and blue already reminds sam enough of him without adding on all this extra bullshit.

but he lets it happen anyway. lets her use her sleeve to wipe away the blood, doesn't even say anything snarky about the stains. )

It doesn't really hurt that much. I mean, I feel shit, but it's like--I don't know. You get used to it? Er. Don't really get used-used to it, but shit only stings for a little while.

Oh, well. If it only stings for a little while.

( she's not making fun of him, except for the part where she is a little. she doesn't have the same kind of experience with rapid healing that some people do here — that sam apparently does — but she knows reckless types, and she knows sacrificial types, and she knows short fuses. sam seems to be a volatile mix of all three. maybe not the best person for her to have decided had to be part of her tight-knit group, but well.

it's clearly too late for that. like it or not, she's at least a little invested. )

Yeah. Thanks.

( has he said it enough yet? the thank you bit. sam takes another breath, then--wraps an arm firm around blue's waist, gets himself up onto his knees, then stands himself up to his full height from there. drags blue along with him, keeping her pressed to his chest so he's picking up her weight along with his own. while one hand keeps around her waist, the other moves to gather in her legs by holding itself below her ass.

it's more habit than anything else. and he is quick to bend down a little to put her back on her feet after. )

For what, not yelling at you?

( blue is much less in the habit of being picked up and it shows. her hands flounder a bit before she catches hold of the front of his shirt. it doesn't offer much in the way of stability, but it at least stops blue from fumbling her way right out of his grip. it's only quick anyway, sam has her up and then back down again with ease, before she has the chance to really make much of a fuss about it.

still, she responds with a light punch to his shoulder, once her feet are back on solid ground. )

I have legs, you know.

( tiny hands, tiny punches. blue punches him but it doesn't really hurt any. he just--looks down to his shoulder after she hits him. lifts his shoulders. )

Sorry. Habit.

( doesn't specify what it's a habit from, because he doesn't really feel like sharing either. maybe later. and sam doesn't look particularly sorry either. sometimes you just pick people up on accident, no big deal. )
