[ henry had woken up early, he was no good at sleeping the past couple weeks anyway and he wanted to do something special. by the time blue wakes up he'd lain out a breakfast feast in the kitchen and dining. portioning some of it onto a tray - coffee, fresh orange juice, waffles with whipped cream, fruit and yogurt parfait, candied bacon, eggs scrambled with veggies - he realizes he may have gone a bit overboard.

I thought breakfast was the present? ( blue probably should have known better to be fair, but she's still--not surprised, exactly, but it catches her off-guard just a little. she really had thought that she was going to just...breeze through her birthday without much fanfare.

she's careful when she moves, not to send the tray moving too much that anything spills, but it's very, very necessary that she gets an arm around henry and hugs tight around his waist for a moment. ) Let me see this gift. Then you can help me eat this--mountain.
